The figures show results from one of the NOMADS North Sea experiments. A number of particles with a uniform distribution in the vertical, are released on the 1st of March 1989 at six locations in the southern Bight and the central North Sea. The simulation is performed for a period of one month with a realistic surface forcing. The first figure shows the trajectories of the centres of mass. The initial positions are indicated by a filled diamond. The second figure illustrates the depth averaged concentrations at the end of March. Note the remarked difference in size between the patches in the southern and the central North Sea.
