How to access ArcExplorer

ArcExplorer is a geographic data explorer that allows to view and query geographic data stored on your computer or on the web.

To access this cartographic tool, you need to install the two free extensions as desribed for ArcIMS:

• the JRE Java Runtime Environment: http://java.sun.com/products/archive/j2se/1.3.1/jre/
• ArcExplorer (from ESRI). This extension only works within Internet Explorer. It can be donwloaded from: ftp://ftp.mumm.ac.be/BMDC/AE/AEJavaSetup.EXE (5.9MB). When installing ArcExplorer, specify the JRE location. The default (for JRE 1.3.1) is "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\jre\1.3.1\ "

Open ArcExplorer from the "Start/Programs/Esri/ArcExplorer" location.
