Stations covered by the database

The following figure displays the geographical location of the common monitoring stations covered by the database. More detailled maps including station names are available for:

  the offshore zone
  the beach and coastal areas
  the Western Scheldt estuary area

You can also access the list of codes and coordinates for each station.

The full database extent covers a larger area (the European Continental plate), going from the Southern Bight of the North Sea & Channel up to Northern Island (12°E, 45°N - 12°W, 60°N). During national and international monitoring campaigns, some stations pertaining to this zone are visited:

Previous campaigns, from 1900 to 1920, have also been monitored by the Belgian scientists of Gilson's team.
