How to get data?
- Register to the database.
- Click on the button ‘Log in and search for data’ to open the request form where you can specify your selection criteria.
- Be aware that due to the different nature of the data, the sediment and biota/biodiversity data cannot be retrieved at the same time. Choose as datatype ‘Sediment’ for sediment data and ‘Biota’ or ‘Biodiversity’ for respectively biota data or biodiversity data.
- Data of different types, f.e. parameters measured in sediment and biota, can be linked based on the fields ‘Campaign’ and ‘Event’ (and sampling depth).
- Depending on the use of the data, you can select your preferred output format. The record format is the most complete format (no averaging takes place), but most data users needs data in a tabular format for processing. Depending on the level of detail you need, you can select Pivot A (taking into account differences in analytical method and laboratory) or Pivot B (grouping different analytical methods for same parameter). A complete description of the different output formats can be found in the ‘Description of the query output format’.
- The results of the search are provided in tab-delimited text files that can easily be imported in MSExcel. To understand all fields, consult the 'Reference information'.
- Only data for the QUEST4D project will be returned. To receive other data, you should log in using the general interface of the BMDC database. Your username and password remain unchanged.
