The benthic carriage

The benthic carriage and the trawl net with a prawn net are used to collect samples of the benthic communities on the surface above the seabed. The benthic carriage drags a net over the sea floor. This net is divided into various compartments one above the other so that the benthic communities can be collected whether they are close to or further away from the sea floor.
