BELCOLOUR PROJECT

Near real time MODIS and MERIS images (total suspended matter, chlorophyll concentration, sea surface temperature and quasi true color) are made available free of charge. The images are processed automatically during the night and stay on the website for 14 days. After reprocessing (+/- 2 months) they are included into our image database.

The products are presented as jpg-images and can be easily printed or send by e-mail.

To access MERIS data, you must be an authorized user and register with us and ESA. Once your registration has been approved, you may login to access both MERIS and MODIS data. Alternatively, you may use the NRT service as a guest, which entitles you to view only MODIS data.

Registration is strongly recommended as this will enlarge the number of images at your disposal and enhance the chance of data on the requested day with possibly both MODIS and MERIS images for the same day but at a different time. The registration procedure is needed for conformity with the rules of the satellite data provider ESA. The only implication registration has for you is the promise not to use the images for commercial purposes and to put an acknowledgement if images are used in publications. Hide this
