Applications

Marine research and cruise support

Marine scientists working on coastal waters of the North Sea often need data that can be derived from satellite images, such as surface temperature, chlorophyll a or suspended matter. The BELCOLOUR-2 project aims to assess these needs and provide the necessary products.

Marine scientists can access our daily updated online image database containing sea surface temperature, chlorophyll a and suspended matter products from MODIS, MERIS and SeaWiFS imagery.

Extra products like multitemporal composites, hdf image files or time series of chlorophyll a or suspended matter are available upon request. A near real-time email/web service is also available to facilitate work at sea.
